A member of Slipknot went for a cup of tea at a pub in Middleton

If you're a member of one of the biggest metal bands in the world and you fancy a pre-gig brew where do you go?

How about a pub in Middleton?

That's exactly what Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson did ahead of the metal megastars' show at Manchester Arena on Thursday night.

Sid, who normally performs in either a skull mask or gas mask, went for a cup of a tea at the Hare & Hounds.

He was in town to visit his cousin, a regular at the Oldham Road pub.

The DJ and rapper, who has English parents, spent about an hour in the pub on Thursday afternoon.

Wearing a black fedora he posed for several pics with staff and customers, but sadly didn't sample the Hare & Hounds' renowned cheese and onion pie.

The pub posted a couple of the photos of Facebook with the message 'When we get someone famous in and we all crowd round for a piccy'.

Hare & Hounds manager Jill Micalles told the Manchester Evening News : "His cousin is one of our regulars who comes in every week.

"And we knew he was coming because he told us beforehand.

"He was lovely. We were all asking for pictures with him and he was really nice about it.

"We've had a few Corrie stars in before and Shane Ward and Lip from Shameless, but we've never had a American heavy metal star in."

Slipknot, best known for their hit People = S***, are currently touring the UK.
