A massive Christmas festival is coming to Cardiff's Sophia Gardens and you can buy tickets now

Cardiff's Christmas Festival is making a comeback for 2023's festive season, only this year the event will be held at a bigger venue but with the same yuletide spirit with shows for all the family. The event, which will run from Friday, December 1 to Sunday, December 24, presents three live shows filled with family fun, jaw-dropping cabaret and a BGT choir.

The shows will be performed in the ornate and intimate 550-seat Fortuna Spiegeltent in the beautiful surroundings of Sophia Gardens and promises to transport audiences to a nostalgic and magical world. Last year the shows were at Cardiff Castle.

Santa's Wish and Castellana will be returning and a new show, Welsh of the West End, will also take place during this year's festival and see some of Wales' top singers perform a one-off concert, more details on which below. Tickets are on sale for the festival now and you can buy them at seetickets.com.

This year’s festival includes:

Santa’s Wish – back by popular demand following a triumphant premiere last year, this magical Christmas musical adventure, which the whole family will love, is written by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Laura Brind. We reviewed Santa's Wish last Christmas as part of our festive shows round up, you can find what we thought, here.

Castellana – a new production of Castellana, a jaw-dropping blend of world-class cabaret, circus, burlesque, and comedy, returns to tantalise, tease, and mesmerise. On its debut last year, it was described by critics as the ‘most unique show in town’ and ‘the most memorable festive experience’. We reviewed Castellana last Christmas as part of our festive shows round up, you can find what we thought, here.

Welsh of the West End – this season will also welcome the global internet and Britain’s Got Talent musical theatre group into the intimate surroundings of the Spiegeltent for what promised to be a unique opportunity to see and hear the group up close and personal for one night only on Sunday, December 17.
