A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed outside a bar in Blackley

A man was stabbed following a disturbance outside a bar in Blackley.

Police were called to the Cheers Bar, on Middleton Road, just after 12am on Saturday morning.

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said the man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

GMP are investigating and it is unknown at this stage if there have been any arrests.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.08am on Saturday, June 22, to Middleton Road.

"We sent an ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.

"We took one person to hospital."
