A man's body has been discovered in Rochdale

The body of a man has been discovered in Rochdale.

Emergency services were called to Rooley Moor Road just before lunchtime on Sunday.

It is understood the body - believed to be that of a man in his 30s - was found on moorland.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and that a file would be handed over to the coroner.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called to Rooley Moor Road, Rochdale shortly after 11.30am on Sunday, September 29, to a report that the body of a man had been found. 

"On arrival, officers found the body of what is believed to be a man in his 30s. 

"There are not believed to be any suspicion circumstances surrounding the death. 



"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

Greater Manchester Fire Service confirmed they were called to the scene to assist police.
