A man has been charged with intimidation after he allegedly confronted two volunteers with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District were told a man had approached the two volunteers around 7.45am on Thursday and allegedly threatened them with physical harm and harm to their property.
The two volunteers were forced to cease their fire-fighting activities to address the alleged threats against them.
They later reported the incident to police.
Officers stopped a 44-year-old man in Elands around 11.40am on Thursday.
The man was searched and police allegedly located a knife in his possession.
He was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of intimidation and possession of a knife in a public place.
The man was refused bail to appear at Forster Local Court on Friday.
