Sometimes life throws a problem at you that requires a fatherly touch. When one woman in TikTok saw that the roof of her room was about to collapse her dad sped to the rescue despite the fact he was out relaxing and enjoying a few drinks.
A video posted by “Mayacent” has gone viral on TikTok, garnering almost 33 million views. In it we see her dad displaying some perfect parenting as he tried to find the source of a leak which threatens to bring down the ceiling in her bedroom. While many would panic in such a dire situation, Maya’s dad keeps a cool head despite likely being quite intoxicated, at one point Maya can be heard asking, “how many drinks in are you?”
Unperturbed, the determined father continues to poke, prod, and pull away at bits of the soaking wet ceiling in an effort to try and find the source of the water that’s coming through while his daughters cackle with glee. Eventually the group facetimes a contractor friend who guides Maya’s father on what to do next, deciding the best option would be to check the attic, the father also requests another beer as he climbs up into the dark crawlspace to take a look.
Through sheer grit and determination they are able to find the source of the leak although it looks like it’s going to be a costly fix. Thankfully the family are able to see the funny side of the situation.
TikTok commends the father of the year
In the comments many commended Maya’s father for being so patient, “Watching a stressed dad not lashing out at the women around him just healed me a little bit,” wrote one viewer, it’s actually somewhat wholesome. “Is this what having a dad is like????????” asked another while a third added, “a male at peak performance.”
It seems Maya’s dad has become an internet sensation practically overnight with plenty of comments noting that he is “beekeeping age,” which, if you’re not in the know, is modern slang for calling a man in his 40s or 50s attractive in a way that is mature, confident and calm. Maya’s dad certainly seems to fit the bill.
Another viewer asked for an update from Maya to which she responded claiming that the repairs would cost somewhere around $10,000, “that is not funny it’s terrible,” responded one viewer. Of course, the revenue from Maya’s viral video will certainly be a big help towards paying that off with Maya writing in the caption, “All proceeds from this video go towards my new room makeover.” But even with the revenue her viral video might make, that’s still a lot of money to put up for repairs.
