The crew were on site from around 12:30 along with various props, inlcuding a police car, and people dressed in police uniform.

Martin McCabe, who lives directly across from where the filming was taking place, told the News: "I've heard that it is going to be a police chase scene being filmed.

"I don't know if it is a major part of the show, but this is great for the area. The crew have been so nice to us and we received plenty warning that it was going ahead."

Another resident Irene Neil, who stays just a street away, told us: "It is smashing this is happening. I seen on Facebook that it was going on and recognised his (Martin Compston's) name straight away."

The Nest follows wealthy couple Dan and Emily as they desperately try to have a baby, and when they meet 18-year-old Kaya (played by Mirren Mack) in a chance encounter, it looks like the final piece of their perfect family puzzle is in reach.

Kaya agrees to carry Dan and Emily’s baby, and it feels like the three were meant to meet – but was it really by chance?

And will all three members of this pact get their happy ending, or have they all embarked on a relationship of mutually assured destruction?

Filmed in and around Glasgow and written by Nicole Taylor, The Nest also stars Harry Potter actress Katie Leung and Game of Thrones star Kate Dickie, while Samuel Small, David Hayman, Shirley Henderson, Fiona Bell, James Harkness and Bailey Patrick round out the cast.
