DEHRADUN: Fans of all age groups of the Harry Potter wizarding world came together for a ‘Potterhead hangout’ in the Botanica Osteria cafe on Sunday morning.
The event, organised by Doon-based book discussion group, Booknerds, was the fifth edition of the annual event, which is a celebration of the books of the series along with the entire extended universe. This year’s hangout happened after a two-year pandemic break. Rohan Raj, co-founder of Booknerds, opened the event with an introduction and also read excerpts from the Hindi translation of the books.
“The event went wonderfully with good public turnout. We had Potter-themed quizzes and book readings from various editions.The attendees played pictionary, with Harry Potter themes playing in the background,” said Neha Raj, co-founder of Booknerds.
Multiple pop-up shops were set up across the venue to provide a visual experience of the Hogwarts life. Fans of the series said they relished the experience. A young participant, Maira, said that it was a great platform to meet other fans. “The Potterhead in me went crazy and I am looking forward to more such events,” she said.
