A luxury five bedroom Cardiff house seized from criminals could be yours at auction today

A luxury five bedroom house in Cardiff previously owned by criminals is among the items up for grabs at auction later today.

The modern detached home in St Mellons boasts two reception rooms, a conservatory, an ensuite master bedroom, spacious garden and a double detached garage and driveway.

It's on for a guide price of £435k and is among a huge amount of designer items previously belonging to jailed criminals which will go under the hammer in Newport this evening (Wednesday January 16) at 6pm.

Also being sold are Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton bags and flashy cars - like a pink Mazda RX7 with only 683 miles on the clock is on with no reserve price - all of which have been confiscated by various government bodies and agencies.

The haul, seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act - which allows a court to commandeer items that criminals can't legally account for - is currently in the care of Wilsons auctions  and interested parties will also be able to take part in the bidding online.

Wilsons Auctions’ Government Sales Coordinator, Michael Streight said, "We are kicking off the New Year with a fantastic range of high-end and designer goods that always draw a crowd to our Unreserved Government Auction.

"And with all items unreserved and going to the highest bidder at the fall of the gavel, this a great opportunity to add a little style to 2020.

How do auctions work?

"With the auction available to both physical and online bidders it is open to a worldwide audience and gives customers the chance to purchase quality goods for an affordable price."

For full details on all lots go to www.wilsonsauctions.com - but hurry, you'll need to register by midday today.

Physical viewing of lots will also  take place throughout today at Wilsons Auctions' South Wales branch on Usk Way in Newport.
