A look inside South Ayrshire on lockdown as the country's streets, parks and beaches are left quiet amid coronavirus crisis

With Spring upon us and the sun splitting the skies, it was feared that people would come out in their masses with a disregard for the social distancing rules.

But thankfully only a few folks could be spotted at popular spots – like the town centre, sea fronts and Belleisle golf course – for their daily exercise.

Those who soaked up the rays outdoors kept their two-metre distance and enjoyed a safe stroll with their dogs in tow.

And those who didn’t fancy venturing too far simply sat in their gardens to appreciate the bursts of sun as life as we know it slowed down.

Post photographer Euan McCall kept his distance as he captured these pictures of peopleless promenades, quiet parks and a near empty Ayr town centre.
