The New York Giants set their initial 53-man roster on Saturday, but it remained in place for less than 24 hours before the tinkering began.
The Giants claimed and were awarded two players off of waivers on Sunday, and as a result, they were forced to cut two players, including wide receiver Alonzo Russell, who had become a fan favorite.
