A look at potential Chargers free agent targets no longer available after Day 1 of legal tampering

On Day 1 of the NFL’s free agent legal tampering period, we saw a good chunk of action occur, as some of the top unrestricted free agents will have a new home when the new league year starts on Wednesday.

As for Los Angeles themselves, they didn’t do anything, sticking to their habit of being patient and laying low as the big money gets spent early in free agency, waiting to pounce later on as the market settles.

With that, here’s a recap of the potential targets that are no longer available for them to sign in free agency.

The Raiders continued to stack deck after the addition of wide receiver Antonio Brown with safety Lamarcus Joyner and offensive Trent Brown.

Two linebackers are off the market for Los Angeles.

For $14 million per year, safety Tyrann Mathieu has headed to Kansas City, where the Chargers will see him twice this upcoming season.

Another safety is off the market with Landon Collins. Collins received a hefty deal, which would’ve been out of Los Angeles’ reach.

Jackson was a perfect fit, given the position need and his familiarity with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.
