A look at Hearts' first five Championship fixtures as Dundee opener confirmed

Hearts have learned their fixtures for the shortened 2020/21 Scottish Championship season, and there's a very interesting encounter to kick things off.

The Jambos will host Dundee at Tynecastle on the opening day – Saturday, 17 October.

Both sides are expected to be among those chasing promotion to the top flight, with the Dens Park club managed by ex Hibs captain James McPake.

Robbie Neilson's side then face a trip to Arbroath the following weekend (24 October) before a home match with Alloa is scheduled for the final weekend of the month.

This match, however, will need to be pushed back as the Jambos are due to face Hibs in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden that weekend.

Into November and Hearts will kick-off the month with a testing home match against Inverness Caley Thistle, before a trip to Dunfermline Athletic on 21 November after the international break. They then play an away match against Morton on December 5.

Hearts' Championship fate was sealed earlier this week when a three person SFA tribunal ruled against theirs and Partick Thistle's attempts to have relegations halted.

The second tier season will be shortened to a 27-game season, so teams will play each other three times rather than four.
