A livid Max Scherzer almost ripped his belt off when asked to do third foreign substance search

In cased you missed it, MLB pitchers are now subject to random searches during games for foreign sticky substances.

It started Monday night with Mets ace Jacob deGrom being relieved about passing the test.

So how is it all going during the second night of this being a thing? Not well at all.

Nationals ace Max Scherzer was searched not once, not twice, but three times during tonight’s game against the Phillies. He was annoyed after the second time, which happened at the end of the third inning. And then he almost lost it – and his pants – when he was searched again in the fourth inning.

Amazing.

Things then later escalated even more as Phillies manager Joe Girardi seemed like he wanted to fight Scherzer:

This whole thing seems like it’s going to be a total mess.
