'A little bump' - Declan Rice makes West Ham Premier League prediction ahead of Brentford clash

West Ham United captain Declan Rice is 'sure the tables will turn' for his side starting with Brentford on Friday.

The Hammers took a 1-0 lead on Boxing Day on the road to league leaders Arsenal but were pegged back in the second half and ultimately lost 3-1, leaving them a point over the relegation zone.

Despite the team's tenth loss of the season, Rice believes the east London outfit have played well in games and have just been unable to find the back of the net.

Up next for the Hammers is Brentford who are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, plus they were 2-0 up, and the Bees have picked up results against both Manchester clubs this season - 4-0 against United and 2-1 against City.

West Ham are currently six points off 10th place, where Brentford currently are, and Rice has told his team-mates that they have to start finishing their chances in the league in order to climb the table - David Moyes' side have scored 13 goals in 16 matches and only three teams have scored fewer.

"It’s just the results and it’s a tough one because there’s been games we’ve played unbelievably well and not got the results," Rice told Amazon Prime Sport. "Tonight we’ve not played the best and not gotten the result, we have created chances in the other matches but not putting the ball in the back of the net, in the Premier League that’s the most important thing.

"There’s a gap arriving in the league and we’re in the bottom half, for sure the tables will turn and we’ll get up there but it’s a little bump at the moment, we’re positive and believe we can beat Brentford on Friday."
