No dressing it up, Jason Day is planning to "get out of my own way" in pursuit of an elusive maiden Masters title.
But his simple approach might be difficult given Australia's former world No.1 has already reportedly been placed on notice by Augusta National fashion police.
Two years after being instructed to tone down his creative Mabon outfits, Day denied he had been asked to ditch yellow bird-themed pants to match his top during a practice round on Monday.
"No. I saw a couple people out there today wearing the shirt and the full kit and caboodle, which is a little aggressive, but I like it," he said after playing nine holes on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT).
Runner-up on his Masters debut in 2011 and boasting five top-10 finishes, Day says that, capturing the attention of fans for his garish "Birds of Georgia" outfit aside, he is happy to fly under the radar this year.
"I would say there's a lot more other guys that they're talking about for sure," the 38-year-old said.
"But there's always pressure because you always want to try and win your first one. It would be nice."
The one-time major champion enters his 15th Masters off the back of a tie for sixth at the Houston Open, after opening 2026 with a second placing in Hawaii.
"I thought that was a great week to prepare for this week," said Day, who tied for eighth last year.
"And I've just been here so many times, if I can just get out of my own way, typically I play well.
"So, I'm really looking forward to getting into the tournament now. I've been here since last Friday and just starting to taper off the practice and get more into seeing the shots and just looking forward to getting going."
