A-list Mahiki is closing Mayfair bar as bosses hunt for new location

London’s Mahiki bar & club is closing its doors in Mayfair after 16 years as it searches for a new location.

It has been a haunt for celebrities and royals alike, attracting stars from all walks of showbiz, for nearly two decades because of its exclusive vibe and rum-based cocktails.

Beyonce, Jay Z, Drake, Rita Ora, Rihanna and Winnie Harlow are among the celebrities who have been spotted at the Mayfair bar over the years.

Co-owner David Phelps said “After sixteen years in our original location, now is the right time for us to find a new home for Mahiki.

“We are looking for somewhere where we can really make the most of what people love best about our Mayfair spot – the Lanai lounge bar, the cocktails, and the sense of pure escapism which had people wanting to dance on the tables every night.”

Mahiki has taken the world by storm with bars in Marbella, Sardinia, and Sweden.

Recently, the bar announced its new partnership with Silverstone.

The Mahiki T1 Enclosure, which overlooks the first corner of the famous race circuit, will host the Friday Launch Party, Saturday Night Session and Official Sunday After Party for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix next month.

The new partnership with Silverstone builds on existing tie-ins with the Henley Royal Regatta and Polo in the Park at Hurlingham Park in London.

Limited tickets to Mahiki at the Henley Royal Regatta (11 –14th August) are still available.
