A-list celebrities have contact details exposed in data breach

• Contact details for numerous celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, and Martin Scorsese, were reportedly exposed in a data breach.
• The leak occurred when a Tribeca Film Festival database, simply named “contacts”, was accidentally made public online.
• Cybersecurity expert Jeremiah Fowler discovered the exposure days before the festival began on 3 June, calling it the “biggest collection of celebrity data” he had ever seen.
• The exposed data included names, phone numbers, email addresses, and device information such as iPhone versions and web browsers used by the celebrities.
• Fowler notified the Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, which promptly removed the databases and said it is actively investigating the incident.
