A Lim Kim Facts: 12 Things You Didn't Know About The South Korean Golfer

A Lim Kim smiles during the 2025 AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl.

A Lim Kim is one of the leading talents in the women's game and has already made her mark at the top level via a number of marquee wins. Find out more about her life and career to date via the following facts.

A Lim Kim Facts

1. A Lim Kim was born in South Korea on October 4, 1995.

2. She is sometimes known by her nickname - A Lim Queen.

3. Kim turned professional at the age of 18 in late 2013. She went on to play on the Dream Tour in Korea for the next two years.

4. Kim qualified to play on the KLPGA Tour in 2016, finishing 47th on the money list in her debut season and 49th the following term.

5. She enjoyed her breakout year in 2018 when winning for the first time at the Pak Se-ri Invitational. Kim led the KLPGA in driving distance that season and went close to winning several times before her maiden success in October.

6. Kim has three victories on the KLPGA Tour in her career

7. In December 2020, Kim won the US Women's Open in what was her LPGA Tour Major championship debut. The Korean triumphed by a single stroke from Jin-young Ko and Amy Olson after trailing by five through 54 holes and shooting a Sunday 67. Interestingly, though, Kim was arguably lucky to have even made it to the championship in the first place. Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the USGA was not able to organize its usual qualifying tournaments so, instead, invited the world's top-100 as it stood at the time. Kim, who was ranked 94th, was able to become just the fifth player ever to win the US Women's Open on debut.

8. Kim earned a full LPGA Tour card as a result of her US Women's Open win, but due to its timing in the year, the Korean only had a week to decide if she should accept. Kim ultimately said yes and began her LPGA Tour career in the 2021 season.

9. She made 15 of 23 cuts in her debut campaign on the LPGA Tour and earned $410,662 via four top-10 finishes. Kim ended 52nd in the money list.

10. Kim earned her first LPGA Tour win at the 2024 LOTTE Championship. During round three of that tournament, she made a hole-in-one at the ninth. Three months later, Kim claimed her second success at the 2025 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

11. Kim has top-10 finishes in three of the five women's Majors, ending T4th at the 2023 Chevron Championship and T3rd at the 2023 Evian Championship.

12. She is one of the longest drivers on the LPGA Tour, finishing ninth in 2024 with an average driving distance of 274.18 yards.
