Chelsea may have a transfer ban, but they have plenty of loanees that can come back into the squad.
And one of those is already staking a claim for a place in Frank Lampard's first team.
Mason Mount is a player Lampard knows only too well, having had the midfielder during his first year of management with Derby County last season.
And the duo look set to team up together again at Chelsea.
Mount is just 20 years old, but he is ready to make his mark on the Premier League.
The midfielder was thrown into action as Chelsea played their second game of their pre-season tour of Ireland on Saturday, against St Patrick's.
Mount was not used in the first game - a 1-1 draw with Bohemians - but was handed a starting berth at Richmond Park.
And it took him just 13 minutes to make his mark, latching onto a through ball from Mateo Kovacic and dinking an effort over the goalkeeper for his first goal in the Blue of Chelsea.
It was not only the goal that caught the eye, with his set-piece delivery also impressing the watching Blues fans.
With Lampard at the helm, and no new signings coming in, many of the 'Loan Army' will think they have got a chance of a regular spot in the Premier League squad.
And Mount is the first to make his move.
Can we continue the good form from his first time in a Chelsea shirt and become a regular fixture in the Premier League in 2019/20?
Time will tell.
