A law firm has recruited new members to its corporate team in Cambridge

Howes Percival has boosted its corporate team with the appointments of Oliver Pritchard as a corporate and commercial partner and Robert Bradshaw as an associate.

These appointments are an important part of Howes Percival’s national corporate, commercial and banking (CCB) team’s growth strategy.

Howes Percival partner and chairman Tessa Haskey said: “I’m delighted to welcome Oliver and Robert to the firm.

“Oliver is well-respected and a highly experienced corporate lawyer. His experience of complex corporate transactions and his expertise in the health and social care sectors will be a real asset to the firm and our clients.

“Oliver will help us further develop our corporate, commercial and banking presence in the region, which we see as a core market for us given the quality of our client base and the SME businesses in the area.

“Over the last few years we’ve invested heavily in our corporate, commercial and banking team and the strategy is paying dividends.”

A specialist in healthcare and social care, Mr Pritchard was previously a partner and head of commercial health at Browne Jacobson LLP in Nottingham and is relocating back to East Anglia where he grew up. He is also a Cambridge University graduate.

He has been appointed as the leading corporate partner in the East Anglia region with responsibility for the growth of the corporate teams across the Cambridge and Norwich offices.

With 20 years’ experience as a transactional and advisory corporate lawyer, Mr Pritchard is recognised by the 2020 edition of the legal directory ‘Chambers and Partners’ as a leading lawyer nationally in the healthcare sector.

He has a wealth of experience in leading teams of lawyers on corporate transactions and other large-scale projects within the public and private sectors.

His recent transactions include the sale of Care Fertility Group to Silverfleet Capital, the sale of 4Ways Healthcare to ECI Partners, and the merger of Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Bradshaw assists with a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including acquisitions and disposals of private companies, shareholder agreements, issues relating to corporate governance and general commercial agreements. He was previously with Holmes and Hills LLP.

The appointments follow the hiring of Brigitta Naunton, who was made a director last year, joining the firm from Thomson, Webb and Corfield, where she was a partner.

The firm has made a series of senior corporate and banking appointments in recent years, and the CCB team is on track to deliver new business growth of 25 per cent, compared to the previous financial year.
