The WNBA named Aces star A'ja Wilson the 2025 MVP on Sunday, marking the fourth time she's won the award. Wilson becomes the only player in WNBA history to win the award four times. ESPN's Shams Charania was the first to break the news.
This isn't even Wilson's first award of the 2025 season. She was also named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year alongside Lynx's Alanna Smith, which is the first time the league's split this award before. This is also the first time she's won both of these awards in the same season. Wilson's making history left and right this awards season.
Wilson made history throughout the WNBA season, too. The Aces center became the first player to average 20 points and 10 rebounds in multiple seasons as she has now done so the past two years. Her 13 30-point games marks the most in a single WNBA season, too.

During the 2025 regular season, Wilson led the WNBA in points (23.4), rebounds (10.2) and blocks (2.3).
This year's WNBA MVP award adds to Wilson's ever-growing list of hardware throughout her career. She's additionally a two-time WNBA champion (with the chance of adding a third this year), seven-time All-Star, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time scoring champion (including this year), five-time blocks leader (including this year) and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. And, she's accomplished these feats in just eight WNBA seasons and before turning 30. No big deal.
