A.J. Klein, Terron Armstead hosting ‘Black and Gold’ charity softball game

The New Orleans Saints announced that the annual Black and Gold Celebrity Softball Game will be held Tuesday, June 4 at Turchin Stadium on Tulane University’s campus in New Orleans. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. This year’s event will benefit the organizations Son of a Saint and Team Gleason, advocating for youth outreach in New Orleans and ALS awareness and research.

The team charity softball game has become a yearly tradition over the years, often featuring an offense versus defense game and then a home-run contest. This year, it is being hosted by linebacker A.J. Klein and left tackle Terron Armstead. The game itself is typically competitive, but always in good fun. The home run derby afterwards is when most players try to flex the most.

Tickets will be available the day of the game at the gate, costing $10 for general admission. Children under 10 years of age, as well as teachers, military, and first responders (with proof of I.D.) will enter free of charge. There will be opportunities to get autographs from current and former Saints players, as well as on-site concessions.
