A.J. Green says he’s 100 percent and used off day to get extra work with Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals wideout A.J. Green sounds like he’s healthy and ready to go for the team’s season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.

In fact, Green says he’s even put in some extra work with Joe Burrow.

According to Lindsay Patterson of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Green told media he and Burrow used the team’s off day on Tuesday to put in some extra work together.

That’s a good sign considering Green had suffered some sort of hamstring issue early in camp and took a while to get back. In the interim, guys like Auden Tate and even Mike Thomas had forged a great connection with Burrow.

Green’s probably going to be on a pitch count against the Chargers either way as the team eases him back into things. But the fact he and Burrow put in some extra work can put to rest any speculation about whether he’ll have a good connection with the rookie No. 1 pick.
