A.J. Green reveals he’s medically cleared after toe surgery

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has been medically cleared ahead of training camp this summer. So says the star wideout himself, according to Joe Danneman of Fox 19.

Green had spent OTAs on side rehab fields with guys like Tyler Eifert, running routes but not getting overly involved. He had always said this was the expected timetable for being cleared.

Last season, Green suffered another toe injury, attempted to return and went down again before getting shut down. He ended up appearing in just nine games, making it two out of his last three seasons he’s appeared in no more than 10 games.

Given the way the Bengals do business, this probably isn’t the biggest news item that will involve Green this summer. He’s going into the final year of his contract, and the front office hasn’t been shy about wanting to get something done, so getting cleared might bring that one step closer.
