A.J. Green on future with Bengals: ‘Anything is possible’

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green isn’t one to say much publicly about his playing future.

But Green can’t avoid questions about it given the obviousness of the situation as he heads for free agency this offseason.

Asked about whether Sunday against Baltimore was his last game with the Bengals, Green kept it short and sweet, per ESPN’s Ben Baby: “Anything is possible.”

But Green did wax a bit poetic if this is indeed the end, per the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Tyler Dragon: “If this is my last game here, I’ve had an unbelievable time here. I wouldn’t trade it for the world … I’ve had a great time here if this is my last time here.”

These comments follow Green saying a few weeks ago that he’ll sit down with his team and figure out what he wants to do with his trip to free agency.

Green has made it in all 15 games to date this season, yet he’s caught just 47 of his 98 targets with two touchdowns with the torch clearly passed to rookie Tee Higgins.

Conventional wisdom would suggest the Bengals won’t want to pay Green’s market price, should it be high. That would leave another hole for the Bengals to fill this offseason — but as Green said, anything can happen.
