This is not the news Bengals fans want to hear. Star wide receiver A.J. Green appears to have suffered a toe injury and was carted off the practice field during Saturday’s session.
And while trainers were checking him and as he was being carted off, Green’s facial expression may have told the whole story.
If Green is indeed out for a significant amount of time, it would be a brutal blow to both the Bengals and to Green. The team loses their big playmaking wide receiver, letting a lot of air out of the balloon that came from the Tyler Boyd contract extension.
And Green was entering a contract year himself, so this is just the worst timing for him in terms of earning as high of a contract as he can heading into 2020.
Here’s hoping the injury is not as serious as it looks and Green has a speedy recovery.
