A.J. Green, Carlos Dunlap already in playoff mindset for Bengals to start OTAs

It was only a matter of time before the rave reviews for Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor starting pouring in after the start of OTAs.

Taylor’s approach, from facility redesign to how he handles players, has already been the subject of player praise since he arrived.

Now his approach on the field itself has some guys thinking playoffs.

Fox 19’s Joe Danneman asked notable players “who know what playoff talent looks like” what they saw from Day 1 and A.J. Green kept it simple: “We’re going to surprise a lot of people.”

And he wasn’t alone.

“If (people) think we’re going to come out like last year, they got another thing coming,” Carlos Dunlap said, per Danneman.

Green was working the rehab field but had a close eye on the lightning-fast pace of Taylor’s offense. Things weren’t always pretty, but they were quick and innovative — including moving Cordy Glenn to left guard while Jonah Williams manned left tackle.

These Bengals started incredibly strong last year before the injury bug and other items went south. From the sounds of it, Bengals leaders are expecting another hot start.
