Thousands of homes were hit by a huge power cut in Bolton tonight (Monday).
More than 5,000 properties were affected by the outage.
The power cut was affecting homeowners with the postcode BL2.
A spokesman for Electricity North West said he was unable to confirm the cause of the power cut at this stage.
He said they were called to reports of a 'fault on the network' just before 7.30pm.
Around half of the properties had their power restored within minutes of the engineers arriving at the scene.
Electricity North West tweeted about the incident tonight (Monday).
The power was then restored to almost all of the properties by 8.30pm.
Anyone who is still affected is urged to call Electricity North West on 105.
