A HUGE homeware store has opened in the Trafford Centre to rival H&M and TK Maxx's Homesense

Last year shoppers from far and wide travelled to the Trafford Centre after H&M opened a shiny new homeware store. The store has proven hugely successful, and certainly feeds the appetites of Manchester's homeware fanatics- a trend which is growing exponentially.

TK Maxx owned Homesense is also a huge hit with shoppers looking to freshen up their homes. While the Arndale's branch has sadly shut down, a store remains in the Trafford Centre.

Now another massive homeware store has opened in the middle of the Trafford Centre to rival H&M's offering. Trafford Centre shoppers can now enjoy the shiny new NEXT Home store, which opened its doors on Friday.

Following a 7 month renovation, the store has grown by a huge 20,000 sq.ft, after expanding into neighbouring units on both the upper and lower malls of the centre. Menswear and Womenswear have swapped floors, giving the Trafford Centre store one of the largest Menswear departments across NEXT. The previous NEXT Home store which was situated in Trafford Palazzo has moved; a huge, open Home department is now housed in this unit.

The new store will include all the latest products from NEXT’S ranges of Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Home; as well as an exciting new GAP store. The existing Costa Coffee concession remains, but has also undergone its own re-fit.

The NEXT store has had lots of exciting upgrades including new stone work on all 6 of the entrances. The introduction of different digital formats throughout the store adds movement, improving the customer journey and encourages shoppers to explore. Glass windows at the rear of the store now let in bounds of natural light; making the space feel much more open than a once before dark and closed shopping experience.

NEXT Store Manager, Helen Crilley, said: “We are really excited to launch our new large format store within the Trafford centre on Friday the 24th of Feb! With lots of activities and fun throughout the day, we cannot wait to welcome our customers to our newly refitted store. Alongside our recently refurbished floors, we are delighted to introduce customers to our new Home department, where we will have staff on hand to talk more about our exciting product ranges and services.”

Jon Jeffery Gap UK MD: "I am delighted that we have reintroduced the Gap brand back to The Trafford Centre. From adults to babies, our new cleaner store concept offers something for everyone; including iconic classics like the logo hoodie, denim and chinos, alongside perfect wardrobe essentials for all the family this Spring. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our new Gap store."

The Trafford Centre's giant new Next homeware store is now open, alongside the refurbished Next mens and womenswear sections.
