A hot mic catches Tom Brady screaming at referee

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t pleased with an intentional grounding call during the second half of the team’s Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

After an official threw a flag, Brady approached the group of officials to plead his case. While the official explained the penalty to the viewers, Brady could be heard through the mix.

“What!? He knocked it down,” Brady told the official.

Brady’s case seemed to be that, if Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson hadn’t batted the ball, the throw would have been in the direction of a Patriots receiver. Still, Brady’s appeal was unsuccessful.

On the following play, Brady found Josh Gordon for 28 yards to convert a third-and-22. Running back Rex Burkhead rushed in for a touchdown a few plays later.
