With great power comes great responsibility. As with Spiderman, so it is with the US presidency. Unlike Spiderman, the president's responsibilities include many long and tedious official tours of America's work places, factories and labs. New York magazine captures the banality of the presidency in this slideshow.

On the other hand, the secret shame of Obama is that he is a slightly boring geek, so maybe he actually enjoys this stuff.
