It's time to embark on a quest to save Aurora. After unlocking Maleficent during Disney Dreamlight Valley's Unwritten Realms storyline, your next task is to find out where Aurora went and how to save her. Following the Missing Princess quest is A Hero of Ink and Paper.

Talk to the Lorekeeper
After completing the Missing Princess quest, you'll immediately start a Hero of Ink and Paper, prompting you to talk to the Lorekeeper. The Lorekeeper reveals that Aurora is inside the tapestry behind the book. Eager to uncover more, you decide to attempt to enter the tapestry in hopes of finding her and figuring out what, exactly, is going on.
However, your first attempt will initially fail. You need to be a hero to enter the tapestry. Despite your continuous efforts to save lives and the Valley, you'll need to put in a little more effort to be considered a true hero. It turns out that Aurora knew this as well, as she hid some notes within the Bind to help you on your journey.
Find Aurora's Notes
You'll find Aurora's notes inside the secret chamber under the Bind's bridge. Head down to ground level towards the center of the biome until you're under the main bridge. Here, you'll find the chamber you unlocked when you first started The Storybook Vale's storyline. Inside is a piece of paper to pick up.
Search the Vale for pieces of the Fairy Tale Book
Now that you have Aurora's notes, you'll have your next objective of finding a Fairy Tale book. More specifically, you'll find two books within the Fallen Fortress and Mythopia.
The Fallen Fortress book is inside the crumbling ruins near the biome's Fairy Tale Trial gate. Head to this spot and check the left-side ruins to spot this blue-green book on the ground.
Mythopia's book is within Mount Olympus. Teleport to Mount Olympus' wishing well and run toward the windmills on the biome's west side. Climbing up the ramps here will lead you to your second book on the floor.
Once you have both books, return them to the Lorekeeper. The Lorekeeper will transcribe and summarize both books to unveil the secret of becoming a hero: being fashionable.
Craft the Hero of the Vale Costume
Now that you've learned that being a hero is all about having a cool outfit, it's time to talk to the Storybook Vale's villagers about it. More specifically, you'll need to collect pieces of clothes from them so you can incorporate them into the outfit, making it known to the tapestry that we're all heroes.
To start, you'll need to talk to the following villagers:
- Merida
- Flynn
- Hades
- Maleficent
Once you collect clothes pieces from all four, you'll need various crafting materials to make the outfit. Here's a complete list of every resource you need:
- Yellow Tale Cone Flowers (4)
- Blue Tale Cone Flowers (4)
- Olive Green Tale Cone Flowers (4)
- Beige Tale Cone Flowers (4)
- Posidonia (10)
- Blue Bird Snippet (4)
- Red Demon Snippet (4)
- Green Frog Snippet (4)
- The scrap clothing pieces from the Storybook Vale's villagers
Most of these items are relatively easy to find by this point in your playthrough. Cone flowers appear in the Bind alongside Blue Bird Snippets, while Posidonia is available through fishing in Mythopia. Make sure to avoid fishing circles while farming this, as those give you fish instead. Red Demon Snippets spawn in The Statue's Shadow, while Green Frog Snippets appear in both The Wild Woods and Teapot Falls.
Once you craft the Hero Costume, return to the Lorekeeper before wearing it. Now, you're ready to step inside the tapestry. Doing so wraps up the A Hero of Ink and Paper quest, leading directly into The Ink-Stained World.
