A hectic scramble for the ball somehow leads to winning halfcourt buzzer-beater

When it comes to halfcourt buzzer-beaters for the win, nobody ever said they had to pretty. Missouri State won’t mind either way.

With Illinois State up two points and inbounding with 7.8 seconds to play on Sunday, Missouri State’s Keandre Cook stole an errant pass. Then, the ball was knocked loose and ended up near midcourt as both teams dove to the floor with time winding down.

The ball somehow ended up in the hands of Jarred Dixon who let the shot fly from beyond halfcourt.

Incredible.

Halfcourt buzzer-beaters don’t get anymore hectic than that.

The banked-in 3 gave Missouri State a 66-65 win and handed Illinois State its second buzzer-beating loss of the season.
