A Harpurhey hotel could become a 28-bedroom homeless hostel under plans being sent to the town hall.
Developers want to turn the Hendham House guest house into a hostel for homeless people who suffer from ‘complex problems.’
In a planning application sent to Manchester council, HS Property said the project would create ‘good quality sustainable accommodation that is safe and secure for vulnerable people’.
The hostel, off Rochdale Road, would provide an atmosphere where residents are treated with ‘dignity and respect,’ it said.
“[It would] create an open, positive and inclusive atmosphere where individuals are listened to, in turn creating a more settled and less chaotic lifestyle for clients,” it adds.

Under the plans, the hotel would be refurbished to create a four-floor hostel with communal bathroom facilities, kitchens and dining areas.
Residents would be supported to live as independent a life as possible, it said.
This would include help with mental health needs, drug and alcohol use, managing benefits and debt, developing daily living skills and accessing education, training and employment.
The idea would be that residents would then have the emotional and practical skills to move on to more mainstream accommodation.
The building would be managed 9-5 by one staff member while a concierge service would cover evenings and weekends.
The scheme, which was sent to the council last week has been drawn up by Manchester-based HS Property, a development company with a focus on social housing projects.
They said in planning papers that they would work carefully to find a suitable provider to manage the hostel, taking into account their Care Quality Commission rating and links with local community groups.
