A Hamilton man waved a knife about during a disturbance at his home.
Baljit Singh, 56, admitted shouting abuse at Muhammad Mahmood, brandishing a blade and threatening him.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard the incident happened at an address in Low Waters Road last November.
Singh also admitted breaching a court order by contacting Mr Mahmood two days later.
Singh, now of Chatelherault Crescent, Hamilton, had sentence deferred for six months for good behaviour.
