A Hail Mary and two-point conversion by the Eagles led to a brutal bad beat for bettors

There are many times in sports that remind me that I’m glad I don’t bet on games anymore.

That happened again Monday night in such incredible fashion at the end of the Seahawks-Eagles game… because WOW, this was something.

The Eagles were underdogs at home by 6.5 points. Trailing by 14 points with less than 15 seconds to play in the game, Carson Wentz lofted a Hail Mary into the end zone. The ball deflected off a receiver’s hands and was caught one-handed by Eagles tight end Richard Rodgers as he fell to the ground.

That touchdown made it an 8-point game with 12 seconds left. But then instead of kicking an extra point the Eagles for some reason went for two points and got it.

That led to a six-point loss for the Eagles and a really bad night for anyone who bet on the Seahawks to cover the spread.
