Does it surprise you that the Rainforest Alliance feels moved to celebrate World Poetry Day? Well, it shouldn’t. Because although we spend our days protecting forests and improving the lives of those who make their living from the land, poetry’s most sacred theme is also ours: nature.

Join our celebration by rewriting the last line of one of our favorite poems, which happens to be about – you guessed it – a frog! This famous haiku, by the revered poet Matsuo Bashō, follows the pattern of three phrases composed of five, seven, and five syllables respectively. Tap into your inner poet and give us your best five syllables to complete the haiku, by posting to Twitter or Instagram using #FollowTheFrog and #FrogHaiku.
