A guide to Glasgow neighbourhoods by emoji - what best represents the area you live in

Today is World Emoji Day and it's hard to remember a time before those tiny little graphics.

As we're sure you know, Glasgow Live is a big fan of an emoji.

Those wee pictures can be the perfect way to capture any feeling or emotion, say congratulations - or even just highlight an especially spectacular property with a tiny picture of a Disney castle.

However, emojis are pretty flexible concepts, so we've come up with a new idea - the spirit emoji.

Bear with us, we know it's not a thing - yet.

However, think about it, given the range of emojis there are out  there, from alarm clocks to that red steam Santander logo thingy, meaning there really is an emoji for everything.

And so, in honour of World Emoji Day, we've set out to begin our collection of Glasgow areas and their spirit emojis.

Struggling with the concept? Okay. Click on the gallery to see which little pictures we think represent Finnieston, Buchanan Street and Govan among others.

Of course, we know that nothing is more personal or subject than emoji use, so if we've missed your area or you disagree, let us know in the comments.
