A gruesome pile of animal bones has been dumped on a road in Powys

A huge pile of animal bones were dumped on a road in Powys .

Hundreds of animal bones were found on the B4519 between Garth and Upper Chapel.

Dyfed-Powys Police 's rural crime team received the "unusual" call on Sunday afternoon.

They shared an image of their gruesome find on Twitter, writing: "Attended an unusual call this afternoon - fly-tipping of animal bones in the Upper Chapel to Garth area.

"Anyone with any information can contact me in confidence."

It is not yet known where the bones came from or why they were dumped in the rural area.

One dog owner responded to the post to say that their pets would be "happy to help with the clean up" to which the officers replied: "They were very stinky with loads of flies - wouldn't recommend chewing on them."
