As Dilip Kumar’s demise has left a void in Bollywood, the legend’s family, friends and fans from across the nation continue to mourn the loss of the veteran actor.
While several stars from the B-Town were spotted arriving at the Thespian’s residence to pay their last tribute to the actor, it also included Kumar’s ‘Anokha Milan’ co-star Dharmendra who broke down at the funeral as he held his ‘brother’ Dilip Kumar for the last time.
Later, Dharmendra took to Twitter and penned a heartwrenching note on Dilip Kumar’s demise with a picture of himself where he is seen emotional while sitting on the floor and holding the late actor’s mortal remains at the funeral.
He wrote, “Saira ne jab kaha. “Dharam, dekho Sahab ne paplak jhapki hai “ Dosto , jaan nikal gai meri. Maalik mere pyaare bhai ko jannat naseeb kare. Dosto , mujhe dikhwa nahin aata lekin main apne jazbaat par qaaboo bhi nahin paata . Apne samajh ke kah jaata hoon.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Dharmendra had shared a throwback picture of Dilip Saab with him and captioned it, “Extremely sad to loose my most affectionate brother in the industry. Jannat naseeb ho , Hamare Dalip Sahab ko.”
Dilip Kumar left for his heavenly abode on Wednesday morning after he was hospitalised for the second time in June due to breathing issues. He was 98 years old and was survived by his wife and veteran actress Saira Banu.
Later in the same day, around 5 pm, Dilip Kumar was laid to rest with full state honour at Juhu Qabrastan in Santacruz Mumbai with the presence of his family.
