A Highland man has been hailed as a 'great friend' and a 'brilliant guy' by devastated pals after his body was pulled from a harbour.
Thurso man Dave Budge has been formally identified by cops as the man who police found in Scrabster Harbour last Thursday.
The 55-year-old was reported missing from the area the previous Tuesday and was last seen near the ferry terminal.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Tributes have poured in for Dave after his death.
One wrote on social media: "RIP Dave, you were a great neighbour, a great friend, we were there for each other through lockdown, you always looked out for me as I did you...
"Absolutely devastated and my thoughts are with Dave's family and friends."
Meanwhile another said: "Sad news he was brilliant guy I had many of good pint with Dave when I was drinking."
Police have confirmed the formal identification and said Dave's family have been told of the findings.
A statement issued today read: "Identity of man found deceased in Thurso confirmed
"Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man recovered from Scrabster Harbour, Thurso, on Thursday, 15 April, has now been formally identified as David Budge.
"David's next of kin are aware and our thoughts remain with them at this time.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
