Two suspected motorbike thieves are in custody thanks to a police dog named Olly.
Two men were spotted by Merseyside officers riding a suspected stolen scrambler bike on Sunday evening (September 5).
When the pair realised they were being watched, they then decided to abandon the bike and run off.
One man was quickly held, but PD Olly had to go into action to track down the second man, according to the Mersey Police Dogs Twitter account.
The officers tweeted: "With one male detained it was over to PD Olly to locate the second in some rather dense undergrowth.
"PD Olly likes a challenge, two in custody."
Olly, one of the 40-strong Merseyside Police dogs team, also won plaudits last month when he helped to tackle a man wielding a knife.
The Twitter account reported at the time: "After threats had been made to stab someone PD Olly arrived and convinced the offender to give himself up."
Officers who took the man into custody described his surrender as "a sensible decision".
Two years ago, Olly's sleuthing skills were called for when it was reported that offenders had forced entry into a disused pub.
Officers said: "After a very thorough search Olly had the last laugh when he located the offender in a first floor bedroom."
The Mersey Police Dogs Twitter account, which recounts the exploits of Olly and his canine comrades, has won a dedicated following.
And fans were quick to praise the furry crimefighter after his latest success.
Twitter user RH wrote: "Excellent job handsome PD Olly - extra treats must be due."
And Liz Jackson reacted: "Well done PD Olly, great work by all involved."
