A ginger drug-dealing suspect in combat gear left this behind when he legged it from police

This is what police discovered chucked behind a wall in Oldham after spooking a suspected drug dealer with 'bright ginger hair'.

The man - who was aged around 25-years-old and wearing a combat t-shirt - legged it from officers after they spotted him on Montgomery Street, Hollinwood , earlier this week.

As he ran off towards Hollins Road, police watched him hurl a Tesco bag over a wall.

The man managed to escape, but when officers retrieved the bag they discovered cannabis stashed inside.

GMP Failsworth and Hollinwood posted a photo of the haul on Facebook, joking how they doubted the man would be collecting his lost property from them any time soon.

The post read: "Strange what people throw over walls when they see a police patrol.

"This drug dealer was on Montgomery Street, Hollinwood when he saw me he threw a Tesco bag containing cannabis bush over the wall and made off on foot towards Hollins Road.

"He was about 25 years old with bright ginger hair, wearing green combat t-shirt and green shorts.

"Don't think he'll be attending the police station to reclaim this found property."
