A giant smiling penis has been daubed on a city's tallest structure

A cheeky image of a giant "smiling" penis has been daubed on the side of Hull's tallest structure prompting motorists to slow down to take a picture.

The graphic graffiti currently sits proudly at the base of the 141-metre tall Reckitt's Chimney.

It has also been given facial features, including a huge beaming grin, with the words 'AMOS' written next to it.

Drivers have been parking their vehicles up along Bank Side for weeks where the x-rated artwork is visible from the roadside, reports HullLive .

One driver said: "It's quite funny, I was driving past it and had to look twice, but the closer you get, the clearer the image becomes."

He added: "It's obvious that someone has too much time on their hands. How did they manage to get up there is the burning question in my mind."

Describing the graffiti, one man posted on  Facebook : "I can't believe it. Someone has drawn a massive penis on the chimney down Bank Side. It must be Hull's very own W**ksy."

Another commented on the post: "Hahaha is Banksy back?"

The iconic Hull landmark - derelict since a restructure at Reckitt & Sons in 2007 - was built to discharge sulphur dioxide.

However, in the early 2000s the chimney was deemed obsolete after a flue gas desulphurisation plant was installed.
