A giant Irish outdoor beer garden is opening in Manchester

A huge Irish beer garden is going to be opening in Manchester after lockdown.

The pop-up outdoor space comes from Irish pub O'Sheas, which has a permanent site on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street.

The temporary, al fresco pub space will take shape in a car park not far from Manchester Piccadilly.

Later in the year, the same space will be home to Square One, an outdoor clubbing destination.

The O'Sheas Beer Garden, which promises to serve 'Manchester's coldest pint', plans to open on April 12 in line with the Government's roadmap.

If all goes to plan, England will reach step two of the roadmap on that date, allowing outdoor hospitality, non-essential retail, gyms and hairdressers to reopen.

The beer garden will have a live music offering as well as screening sporting fixtures such as the UEFA Euros.

On the menu will be craft ales and cocktails, with local street food traders pitching up on site too.

O'Sheas co-owner Paul Mackey said: "This is for the people and for the city.

"We celebrate a return for hospitality and have been given the opportunity to utilise an amazing new outdoor space to come back.

"The beers are cold and the welcome is warm. We have missed you all dearly and we can’t wait to see you in the garden!"
