A gastropub where you can play cricket against a simulator is coming to Manchester

A gastropub and bar where you can play cricket against a simulator is opening in Manchester next month.

Sixes Cricket Club, already well-established in London, will be launching its first site here on August 29.

It's the latest sports-themed bar to open in the city centre, joining the likes of Flight Club darts bar and the Whistle Punks axe-throwing bar.

Sixes will be the only venue in Manchester to provide cricket simulators alongside dining and hospitality, with a menu of gastropub-style British food.

There's also a list of cocktails, from the classics to more experimental drinks, like the Eton Mess made with ginger foam and meringue.

Guests can hire state-of-the-art batting nets, where they will test their cricket skills against a virtual simulator.

Co-founders Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon said: "Themed and experiential bars and restaurants are on the rise in the UK.

"While some British bars and pubs were struggling, even before the pandemic kicked in, others are batting ahead by offering customers new experiences."

The venue's third opening will join Sixes bars in Fulham and Fitzrovia.
