A Friends musical is coming to the UK and we are so excited

To children of a certain generation, the names Joey, Chandler, Phoebe, Monica, Ross and Rachel are legendary.

The iconic characters from the hit sitcom Friends have become regular living room staples since the 1990s.

Thanks to endless reruns - thanks E4 and Comedy Central - and a Netflix contract, the antics the six New York City pals got up to have become the stuff of legend.

And now Friends is being celebrated in a brand-new musical - and it's coming to the UK!

Friendsical ’ - written by Miranda Larson - is a parody based on Joey, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Ross.

The musical will kick off just like the pilot.

The synopsis says: "When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman he fears he will never find love again.

"But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?"

There’ll even be original songs.

Among these are ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’, ‘Richard’s Moustache’ and ‘You’re Over Me? When Were You Under Me?’

The show opens at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham in July.

Promisingly, it will then travel the UK, visiting cities including Newcastle, Blackpool, Southampton and Croydon, before a stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
