A former SEC QB not named Tebow making switch to baseball

Tim Tebow is not the only former SEC quarterback trying to make it in baseball after a long layoff from the game.

The Texas Rangers have signed former Georgia quarterback Greyson Lambert to a minor league deal. Lambert played at Georgia the last two seasons after transferring from Virginia.

Lambert has not played baseball since his freshman year at Wayne County, Ga., High School. Lambert currently is working out at the club's facility in Surprise, Ariz., making the transition to pitcher.

Tebow, who played at Florida, is an outfielder with the New York Mets' affiliate in the High-A Florida State League. He is hitting .327 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 49 at-bats.
