Manchester loves a burger, with no saturation point in sight - but some of the best in the region have yet to progress to their own bricks-and-mortar restaurants and are still trading out of vans, stands and market stalls.
Now there's a brand new food festival dedicated to those burger champions, taking over GRUB at Mayfield for one weekend this month.
The Burger Food Fair will kick off on Friday June 28 in the outdoor setting of Mayfield Gateway, and run through until Sunday June 30.
In keeping with usual proceedings, the Sunday will be fully plant-powered and all burgers served will be 100% vegan.
The event comes from street food operators GRUB, who recently held an East Asian Food Fair.
Visitors to the event can expect everything from Kenyan BBQ burgers to traditional beef patties to fish burgers.
Traders confirmed include What's Your Beef, Nyama Choma, Wholesome Junkies, The Little Fishy, Hun, and Guerrilla Guerrilla, with more to be announced.
Bakeorama will offer something a little different, with 'burgers' made from cake.
There'll be a tap takeover from craft brewery Kernel.
Director Jules Bailey said: "Manchester has always had a passion for burgers and we really wanted to bring our own spin to it, we’re really excited to see these top level street food chefs giving the people of Manchester what they really want!"
The Burger Food Fair opens at midday on Friday June 28, and will close at 10pm on the Friday and Saturday. On Sunday June 30, it will be open from midday until 6pm.
The event is free, with dogs and children welcome. You can find Mayfield Gatehouse on Baring Street, just behind Piccadilly station. It's well signposted.
